Hello Team New Horizons Donors and Future Team Members:

We are again this year an Official Charity of the Hartford ING Marathon & Half Marathon (&relay; & 5K) & are getting our team together. Last year you generously donated and it would be great if you are able to do so again this year, but the reason for this message is to invite you to become part of our team. This year we are also participating in the Farmington Valley YMCA Bike the Valley event on June 22, 2013. Team New Horizons is teaming up with Farmington PD. If you are interested in learning more see www.crowdrise.com/newhorizonsfarmingtonpd

Each runner will get a 12 week complimentary boot-camp classes (1 metabolic & 1 strength class) from Tyler English Fitness Systems in either the Canton or West Hartford location, running jerseys from New Balance of Avon along with 10% off sneakers, discounts and runner packets on race day from Max Muscle of West Hartford, and nutritional and wellness counseling for Dr. Davia Shepherd Saparito Chiropractic in Bristol. Running programs will be set for each person for the categories they decide to participate in. Our marathoners will have the unique opportunity to work with a professional pace coach, Ann Sheybani. We’re also interested in putting together a running group once or twice a week along with corrective stretching.

However, this year will be a little different as we will set a bar for fundraising for each race category. 5k runners will need to raise $100.00, half marathoner will need to raise $250.00, relay teams, as a group, will need to raise $500.00, and marathon runner will have to raise $500.00. This may sound high but in comparison to other marathons is very low and we will help you fundraise providing an online fundraising platform and lots of fun fundraising ideas. If you don’t accomplish your goal, we will still let you run, but it is a goal.

Tyler English Fitness training orientation start this Sunday, the 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at 12 Cheryl Drive in Canton - on rt. 44 behind the VW dealer. If you have not been in contact with Tara and you want to participate, send her an email at tmisspink302@aol.com. Friday is the deadline to sign up. If you want to participate and can't make the orientation, just let Tara know and she will send you the details. Time is running out.
