HERE'S THE STORY:
Hello everyone!
I am training for the 2012 Boston marathon and raising money for Community Servings, a Boston charity that provides hearty and nourishing home-delivered meals to critically ill patients and their families. For the next four months, I'll be working towards my goal of running 26.2 miles and raising at least $5000. You can follow my progress here and on my blog: http://fionarunsboston.tumblr.com .
If you have been sick with the flu and just wished that someone would make you a nice hot meal, you can imagine what it would be like to have HIV/AIDS, cancer, or another illness and be unable to prepare food for yourself and your dependents. Community Servings delivers free, nutritionally tailored lunch, dinner, and snacks to 775 people five days a week who are homebound with an acute, life-threatening illness, also offering nutrition education and counseling.
