HERE'S THE STORY:
I am again joining my good buddy Ethan Zohn to run the NYC marathon in support of Grassroot Soccer. This will be my third time back to NY in support of GRS. As many of you know, Ethan and I were introduced by a mutual friend because we are both blood cancer survivors as well as former soccer players - and goalkeepers. It's been a great partnership and friendship as we have continued to support each other's efforts and causes along the way.

The third Grassroot Soccer NYC Marathon Team is giving HIV the Red Card:
26 miles. 50 runners. $200k. 8,000 Lives.
We have the best marathon team out there- not only are they wicked fast and good looking- they're saving lives with every step! And we are honored that they are running for Grassroot Soccer.
Each day more than 7,000 people die of AIDS, and it is the leading cause of death of women globally.
At Grassroot Soccer, we see a world mobilized through soccer to create an AIDS-free generation. Our mission is to educate, inspire and mobilize youth to stop the spread of HIV. By 2014, GRS plans to reach 1 million youth with life-saving education. To date, we've graduated 393,225 girls and boys from our programs globally.
To achieve our mission, we continuously improve our innovative HIV prevention and life-skills curriculum, share our program and concept effectively, and utilize the popularity of soccer to increase our impact.
