THE STORY:
HANNAHS HOUSE INC wrote -
Thank you for considering sponsoring a Mad Marathon Runner by donating to Hannah’s House. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit located in the Mad River Valley dedicated to the cause of supporting the emotional well being of individuals and their families.
Hannah’s House was founded by the Bedford and Carr families to honor Hannah Bedford who grew up in the Mad River Valley, home to the Mad Marathon. Hannah was an athlete, artist, musician, equestrian, avid skier, painter, runner, massage therapist, daughter, sister, aunt and sufferer of emotional disorders. As a family we found there were very little resources for Hannah in the state of VT.
Hannah’s House officially began in July 2010 when we sponsored a therapist specializing in children, adolescents and families. Nicole has developed a full practice and we recently recruited a second therapist with years of experience as a counselor, educator and consultant. Our services include financial assistance for therapy for families in need, subsidy for a variety of therapeutic services, educational programs for families, and we have recently added neurofeedback training.
Because we are a non-profit, all of our funds depend on generous people like you and grants. Hannah’s House has made amazing strides in the past year but we have some hefty goals for 2012 which include:
Neurofeedback training for ADHD, & anxiety disorders
Flood relief therapy for victims of Irene
Educational community workshops for families
Subsidizing Therapy for Individuals as well as families
Sponsoring therapists to support our community
Thank you for your support!
