Hurdle Jumpers is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization devoted to comforting patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Hurdle Jumpers provides comfort kits for cancer patients across the United States. Our kits contain a variety of nationally recognized donated sample products that help alleviate some of the side effects of cancer therapy, along with patient educational materials, helpful tips and advice, a relaxation CD and humor book.
Designed from a patient’s perspective, our kits help people dealing with the shock, anxiety and exhaustion of a cancer diagnosis to conserve their energy, improve their quality of life during treatment, and focus on getting well.
Our organization was founded four years ago by a cancer survivor who made it her mission to help patients along their journey to wellness. To date, over 3,150 cancer warriors have soared over the obstacles of cancer treatment using our specialized comfort care kits. In 2010, our Founder, Janet Halbert, was selected by the Los Angeles Business Journal as Volunteer of the Year.
