November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Time for us to spread the word BIG TIME!
Lung Cancer is the #1 cancer killer....and does not receive enough funding because most people think only smokers can get lung cancer. This is not true....ANYONE can get lung cancer...like Jill Costello.
Jill Costello passed away from lung cancer at age 22. She never smoked. She was not only my friend, but also the coxswain of the Cal Crew team and a team leader. She is a Pac-10 Champion and just recently got inducted into the Cal Hall of Fame.
Jill's birthday is December 1st. She would have been 24. In her memory, I am asking my friends and teammates (workmates, classmates, past and present teammates) to please donate anything you can so I can raise $2,400 for her 24th birthday gift.
Lung cancer needs funding for research. The survival rate has not changed since the 1970s and it is time we use modern day science and technology to help out people like Jill.
Please join me in the fight to beat lung cancer and be part of Team Jill.
