HERE'S THE STORY:
Why OHEL, and why running? The answer to both questions is children. OHEL provides homes and families for children who need them, and I have nothing but admiration for this organization. They maintain many wonderful programs, and I am both happy and proud to be counted among their supporters. As for running, it too provides many benefits. When I first started running, I was about to have my first child, but was very out of shape. I wanted to be able to run and play with my children, and live to see them become adults. So, I began a long journey of self-improvement, and have been running for 28 years.
TeamOHEL seems to me the perfect combination of running and helping children, and I look forward to running this marathon with two of my sons. This will be the seventh marathon running with Micha and the first with Noam. This will be Noam's first marathon.
TeamOHEL is running for the many children with disabilities we serve. We run to bring them the opportunity to attend OHEL Bais Ezra’s year-round camps. TeamOHEL runners know that camp is not only an important part of the healing process, but an experience that breaks down barriers and enables an OHEL child to be like any other.
