THE STORY:

Tangible Hope Foundation (THF) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization committed to empowering young women and families to break the cycle of poverty and create a thriving community through community-based sustainable development projects that will address their needs of education, food security, and primary/preventative medical care.

We’re so excited to be part of this year’s SF Marathon and Crowdrise. Since our next project is building a community development center in Ethiopia how wonderful and appropriate it is that we have this opportunity to engage the running community in our project. Ethiopia has a long history of marathon runners, starting with Abebe Bikila, who ran his first marathon in 1961 (known for his running barefoot!), the famous Haile Gebrsalassie, and the female runner Derata Tulu, all by the way come from the same Arsi region where we are building our center. The center will create sustainable development by providing access to education and address issues of food security and basic medical care. We look forward to working together, and thank you again for your support.
