Hi Everyone,
2010 will mark the eleventh year that I run the New York City marathon. I’d like to commemorate this year’s marathon by dedicating it to my Dad in a very public way: running with the A.L.S. team and raising money to help find a cure for this horrible disease.
My Dad, Robert Lewis, died from A.L.S. in July of 2005. During his battle with the disease he showed extreme courage and a great sense of humor. My Dad was very active (church, golf, bowling) until this disease curtailed his abilities. He was strong-willed and sometimes, I wasn’t sure if it was his stubborn Irish nature or his NEVER GIVE UP attitude that pushed him but I hope to show half that spirit and NEVER GIVE UP on November 7th until I reach the 26.2 mile mark in Central Park.
