Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser. Since 2007, The Shana Foundation educates the public and professionals about the dangers, warning signs and treatment protocol of bacterial meningitis. It distributes an educational animation video via social media to reach students across America. The Shana Foundation runs an innovative awareness program through the hanging of bacterial meningitis treatment protocol plaques in hospital emergency rooms. The plaques display a standard of care algorithm to guide emergency room personnel in the treatment of bacterial meningitis and to serve the Foundation's goal of saving lives. It spearheads eight awareness and fundraising events each year, including 5k Races, Ocean Mile Swim Race, Surf and Skate Competitions, Team Marathon Runners, Family Fun Day, Receptions and a Golf Outing to reach young people and their families throughout the Northeast. Honored for her good work, founder and Director Madeline Wasserman was recently lauded for her exemplary efforts by the State Senate and New Jersey Legislature.
