EVENT DATE: Nov 14, 2012
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Dec 31, 2012
Guided by the principle that every child deserves access to a well-rounded, quality education, TopSpin seeks to provide necessary resources for underserved youth in the United States to succeed.
By rallying professionals within the sports, entertainment and media industries, TopSpin raises awareness and provides funds for exceptional non-profits that operate right outside our window, to better and bring together the communities in which we work and live.
TopSpin was founded in Fall 2009 as a way to raise funds for educational charities in New York City. Its first activation, a ping pong tournament and fundraising event, in benefit of A Better Chance.
To explore the ways in which awareness and funds could be generated, TopSpin scaled its efforts in 2010 and 2011 to identify and grow a compelling platform through which to partner with beneficiary organizations.
We have raised nearly $750,000 while continuously refining our “locally-focused” model to best engage supporters—over 2,500 since 2009—with the issues driving education conversation.
