First, I am a Christian saved by grace who loves to run! Secondly, I am a wife and a mom who loves my family. The Lord has blessed me with an incredible immediate family and extended family. They support my running all the way! I run for God! The Lord has given me the talent and desire to run. Now that I have qualified for Boston...The next step was running Boston...that was my dream. It was fulfilled in 2012 in a grand way with TEAM HOYT...read the story below:
Originally, I was trying to run Boston on my own. God had different plans. I qualified for Boston after two attempts. The first attempt was in San Diego at the Rock 'n Roll Marathon on June 5, 2011. I missed it by 53 seconds. It hurt! I came back with a vengeance and the Lord on my side. I ran the Tupelo Marathon in 3:48:59...one minute one second under my goal of 3:50:00. I had done it.
I registered for the 2012 Boston and waited to hear my fate based on the new entry guidelines. Needless to say, I missed the second cut-off by 13 seconds. It hurt again! But, what I didn't know is God had a bigger, better plan! He wanted me to run with TEAM HOYT...a team that has inspired so many and run with a passion...helping others!
A friend told me about Team Hoyt's charity team knowing I hadn't heard from a different charity team. I emailed Team Hoyt, knowing they were full, to just ask if there was a possibility of running with them. They indeed said they were full...but, about one week letter there happened to be an opening...so this time I really had done it. I ran the 2012 and the 2013 Boston Marathon....with TEAM HOYT!!! Let's find out more about the team...

I am once again privileged to run with Team Hoyt in the 2014 Boston Marathon. Boston 2013 was bittersweet. The bombings put a damper on the run but they will not keep us from coming back. The beauty from the ashes on April 15, 2013 was that I ran a qualifying run on that day! This year I am running with Team Hoyt as a qualified runner instead of a charity runner. Team Hoyt's message of Yes, You Can is my motto and I want to spread the word for this amazing team...so, come April 2014, I will once again make the trip from Hopkinton to Boston as a Team Hoyt member. Seeing that this will be Dick and Rick's last year running Boston, it too will probably be mine. Will you help me make it the BEST year every for the Hoyt Foundation! :)
