This is Tuesdays@9, Naked Angels’ first step in our 3-Step Formula for new works. 

We are Tuesdays@9. Devoted to the writer. Devoted to the writer’s process. Stage plays, screenplays, novels, essays, memoirs, music. We believe in discovering new talent, in marinating it to maturity. In deed, we are a heady mix of right-brain, left-brain doers – grounded by craft, guided by guts. In spirit, a little bit rock-and-roll – brazen and bright and blazing – worshipping at the philosophical well of all the true-blue-on-the-road-less-traveled daring dramatists, actors, performers.

Raw and rowdy and unrehearsed, it starts here. This is the place where work gets done, where writers find their voice, actors hone their instrument, creativity prevails, collaboration is key and community thrives. Join the happening, and you are Tuesdays@9.

The 3-Step Formula; distinctive development at its most potent:

Step 1: Start it at Tuesdays@9, a weekly, wondrous and oft eccentric environment for beginner and seasoned writers to pair with actors and get real with cold readings of works in early development.

The work: 10 pages, green, unpolished.
Cast on the fly: top-notch, fearless talent.
The audience: energetic and energizing.
The result: Immediate, improvisational, inspiring theater. 

Step 2: 1st Mondays, a monthly curated public reading series of new plays, often programmed with material that came straight from Tuesdays@9.

Step 3: From there, work moves to Angels in Progress, a weeklong workshop series offering playwrights, directors and collaborators a rare opportunity for total immersion – free from diversion – to wrestle with, play with and prep new plays for production.

We believe to create you must commit. Commit wholly and without hesitancy to acts of initiative and ingenuity and creation that will ignite the current cultural conversation. We foster boldness because boldness begets power, power begets magic and magic manifests dreams. Whatever you dream, Naked Angels will make it manifest. We are, altogether, the now and future Theater. It’s your voice. Use it. You can check out our Facebook Page and our Twitter feed (and, yeah, the hashtag #NakedTuesdays) to follow the campaign and hear straight from the artists whose lives have been shaped by Tuesdays@9 - from founders Craig Carlisle, Pippin Parker, Tim Ransom and more, to some of Hollywood's hottest celebs, and new, fresh writers who are breaking new ground. For over 20 years, Tuesdays@9 has served more than 280 new works by nearly 200 New York and LA-based writers each year, and for each and every one of them it starts here.
