HIV does not discriminate. Its effects transcend geographic, racial, and demographic borders. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the US HIV prevalence is a little over 1.1 million people. The estimated South African HIV prevalence rate is 5.7 million people.
Just knowing statistics is not enough. Our Ubuntu Ambassadors are empowered by their ability to educate their communities. December 1st is World AIDS Day, a day dedicated to education about AIDS and the impact the virus has on communities all over the world.
Every year we create a special campaign to renew our commitment to combating the 40% prevalence rate in the townships of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
We invite you to make a donation here to get the ball rolling. As a pledge of support for our World AIDS Day 2010 Campaign please a donation here right away, AND text to give $5.00 with us on December 1st.
Your combined donation will provide HIV testing and counseling for people in Port Elizabeth, South Africa who wouldn't other wise have access to these services.
Each one of us can impact lives by donating as little as $10.00. Please make a donation here and join us on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 12:00pm as we text for change.
