I am happy to be the Honorary Team Captain for CampInteractive's running team in the New York City Marathon and New York City Half Marathon, please support my efforts in helping bring running, technology, and the great outdoors to inner city youth.
Giving back to charity is incredibly important to me. I have participated in numerous charity runs and also recently took a trip to Kenya to help launch a conservation campaign, called Long Run, headed up by German charity Zeitz Foundation, which works to promote ecologically sound practices in Kenya.
I was attracted to the initiative because of its objectives on the conservation of the environment and co-existence of different cultures. I do a lot of charity work in Jamaica, but I would like to see firsthand the challenges facing Africa in environment.
I'm honored to be able to put my Olympic win to good use and spread awareness about the causes that are important to me. It's a great feeling to know you have the ability to reach out to so many different people.
