Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.
The USA Swimming Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming. Established in 2004, the Foundation works to strengthen the sport by saving lives and building champions - in the pool and in life. Whether we're equipping our children with the life-saving skill of learn-to-swim through our Make a Splash initiative, or providing financial support to our heroes on the U.S. National Team, the USA Swimming Foundation aims to provide the wonderful experience of swimming to kids at all levels across the country.
SAVING LIVES THROUGH MAKE A SPLASH
Launched in 2007, Make a Splash is is the national, child-focused water safety initiative of the USA Swimming Foundation. Make a Splash partners with more than 515 learn-to-swim providers in 47 states in an effort to provide every child in America, regardless of race or economic status, the opportunity to learn to swim.
Since June 2007, more than 1.2 million children have taken lessons though local Make a Splash partners. These partners provide a portion of their lessons for free or at a reduced cost, or provide free water safety education in their communities.
To offset the costs of the free/reduced cost lessons, The USA Swimming Foundation grants out money to partner organizations on an annual basis, and, to date, has granted more than $2.1M (including nearly $300,000 in 2012). Grants are made possible by the generous support of donors, foundations and corporate partners.

BUILDING CHAMPIONS
The USA Swimming Foundation does more than learn to share the learn-to-swim message. While the Foundation currently provides funding to the U.S. National Swim Team athletes and coaches, its vision and ultimate goal is to grow a development endowment to strengthen the future of USA Swimming's programs and services. This support will create a legacy for future generations of swimmers and will help grow a sport we all care so much about.
Supporting the sport from grassroots to gold medals is something we cannot do alone. By supporting the USA Swimming Foundation, you are supporting the sport and the life-long lessons it provides in leadership, discipline and time management. Visit us online to learn more about how we're building champions - in the pool and in life.
