I am the co-founder of Project A.L.S., which works to bring effective treatments to patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
It all started in 1998 when my sister, Jenifer Estess, was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 35. When my sisters and I learned that there was no known cure for this devastating disease, we decided that we would do everything that we could to make a change.
Since then, I've worked to motivate world leading scientists and clinicians to work aggressively, openly, and together towards a deeper understanding of A.L.S., and the closely related Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and spinal cord injury. To date, Project ALS has raised over $54 million for research in genetics, stem cells, drug screening and the identification of disease pathways.
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
Vote for everyone that joins our team for Project ALS, and Move for ALS. Encourage them to spread the word about this cause so we can be that much closer to finding a cure.
