Hello Crowdrise Community!
My name is Jimmy Park and thank you for reading my profile page. I spent the first 15 years of my career in the corporate rat race, consulting on large scale software implementations, website development, and search engine optimization (making things rank high in Google).
I left the business world and helped co-found Executives Without Borders (www.execwb.org) and so happy to put all the years of business school and experience to fulfilling work. Working on projects in places like Honduras and Haiti has changed my life and I consider myself lucky...extremely lucky...to have found my path in life. Through my work at Executives Without Borders, I've met some amazing people that I am convinced are the most generous people on the face of this earth that inspire and humble me everyday.
Outside of work I love the outdoors and some of the best times of my life were spent climbing in the Sierras, surfing waves in Costa Rica, or snowboarding the back country in Utah. I have the most amazing friends who have taken me places I would never have gone alone.
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
Some days I feel like I could so much more and I am excited to be a part of the crowdrise community to do more, not only for the causes I am directly involved with, but also those of others in this community. In the past I have climbed mountains for a cause and this year am going to run a marathon as a member of the Executives Without Borders NYC Marathon Team. These events and my daily work with ExecWB or my small contributions to making the world a better place. I am inspired by the words of Robert Kennedy on what I feel is one of the greatest speeches in American History when he addressed the young people of South Africa in 1966. One of my favorite excerpts of the speech below:
"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped." - Robert Kennedy

HI Jimmy! I am a student and the University of Michigan's School of Information and this year we sent over 100 students to different cities - NYC, DC, Chicago, and Detroit - to volunteer our time in non-profit, cultural, governmental, and educational institutions and you guessed it LIBRARIES. I'm currently fundraising to ensure that this program can continue in the future and would love your support. http://www.crowdrise.com/siasbteam5/fundraiser/sarahwingo
ALSO if anyone donates between now and the end of the day Monday the Dean of our school will match that donation!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my message.
