Our Mission
Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.
We are an international volunteer missioner organization promoted by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
Establishing Confidence, Leading to Truth, Freedom, and Love.
VIDES was created to give a form to youth volunteerism and to actualize plans for the promotion of youth and women. Its members are young adults and collaborators of every age. It offers service opportunities locally, nationally, or internationally in programs that promote development and education of youth and women in poor and at-risk situations. The VIDES experience seeks to build leadership skills among young adults by developing their sense of social responsibility, expanding their cultural awareness, and teaching them the importance of lifelong learning and service.
We place volunteer missionaries from the US in more than 92 countries on five continents, in a total of over 1500 communities!
Using the model of accompaniment exemplified by our FMA foundress, St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, we strive to live and work with the people we serve, in cooperation, solidarity, unity and love. We use the Preventive System of St. John Bosco: reason, religion, and loving kindness, to bring hope to troubled youth and build character and marketable skills so that they can break the cycles of poverty and death that trap so many of our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.
