OPERATION WARRIOR WELLNESS-NYC is an initiative created through the partnership of Urban Zen Foundation (UZ) and the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) that uses Transcendental Meditation and integrative therapies (UZF) to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in US veterans. 

Dear Crowdrise,

With recent events in Pakistan, the US military is back in the headlines around the world. If ever there is a moment to reflect on the extreme peril and amazing selflessness of our soldiers, I believe now is certainly an opportune moment.  Statistics from the Veterans Administration show that more soldiers have died from the trauma of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan than in battle. Since 2001, over 400,000 veterans have been diagnosed with PTSD, with 18 veterans committing suicide each day.

This is why my partnership with the David Lynch Foundation in OPERATION WARRIOR WELLNESS is so important. 
An annual budget has been estimated at $350,000 to cover the expense of TM instructors, integrative therapists, designing, gathering and accessing research and continued support via the Internet to soldiers and their loved ones.  I have hopes that with your help and donations that this event will be highly inspiring and groundbreaking for veterans and their loved ones who are struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This beautiful collaborative effort will provide soldiers and their families with skills to assist them as they work to overcome the pain and limitations of PTSD.

I am very anxious to bring this program into motion. On June 7, DLF and UZ will be launching this outreach at the Urban Zen Center in Greenwich Village, New York.
