Hey, all,
The Ann Arbor Skatepark is applying for a $250,000 Pepsi Refresh grant. This is one of those dealies where we’re up on their site for a month, and if we get the most votes we get the moolah!
As part of the application we have to send them a three-minute video: the cooler/funnier, the better. We're thinking, since you can't skate in downtown Ann Arbor, what CAN you use your board for? A pillow? A lunch tray? A baseball bat? A PlayStation controller? Send us a ten-second video clip of your most creative (or goofiest) answer and we’ll include the best entries in our final video for the Pepsi Refresh site, where the whole world can see it.
Here are some simple instructions: http://www.a2skatepark.org/articles/help-us-win-250000
And here's where the Crowdrise bit comes in: give $29 to this project before September 30 and you’ll be entered for a chance to win an iPad! It's fancy and slick, and you can use it in downtown Ann Arbor without getting a ticket... unlike a skateboard.
If you only have $23.62, don't give up! The first ten people to give at least $20 to this project will get a shiny red Moosejaw water bottle as a token of our shiny red gratitude. Then you can use your skateboard as a coaster for your cool new water bottle while you futz around with your iPad, or whatever.
So let's do it! Please make a gift today, and then vote for our Pepsi Refresh project in September (we’ll let you know when the voting starts so you can tell your friends). If we win the $250,000 it will be matched by the Washtenaw County Parks Commission to create $500,000--enough to start creating a skatepark where you can use that board like you should!
