Wyatt Ride for March of Dimes
THE STORY:
Ken Wallace wrote -
In March of 2011, a group of friends are riding our bicycles down the California Coast from San Francisco to Santa Monica to benefit the March of Dimes and to honor the memory of our little boy Wyatt Carroll Lewis-Wallace.
Wyatt was born via emergency C-section on April 19, 2010, 12 weeks premature. He fought for 5 hours but had lost a lot of blood and ultimately passed away due to anemia. We still don't know why this happened but its a tragedy that highlights to Moriah and me that pregnancy and a healthy child birth is not a foregone conclusion. Part of our healing process is finding ways to help other families so that this type of tragedy can be avoided.
We're combining an epic few days of riding with friends to his birthplace as an avenue to raise money for premature births. Here's our plan.
3/18 - San Francisco to Monterey (120mi)
3/19 - Monterey to Cambria (110mi)
3/20 - Cambria to Los Olivos (100mi)
3/21 - Los Olivos to Santa Monica (130mi)
