HERE'S THE STORY:

As a writer myself, this project really means something to me. I started writing when I was about 6 or 7 years old but my first story was finished when I was 8 years old and since then my passion and love for writing has increased. It's an escape for me; an escape from reality and an escape from any problems that I'm facing at a particular time. To give this oppurtunity to young people, who maybe wouldn't have had the chance before this project, is pretty awesome! It will give these guys hopes and dreams, the same way it did for me! So join the team or donate but please make a difference for these children. Give them a voice!

This cause absolutely speaks to me. Letting every child know that they not only have a story to tell, but that it's worth being told.

In the eyes of a child, the world is a fascinating place. They have more stories than we could ever imagine. I wrote my first "book" at the age of eight, and I'm positive that most children have similar ideas in their head but don't have the means or the support of a listening ear.

Since 2003, The Young Storytellers Foundation has successfully run an in-school arts education program in screenwriting. They target under-served, arts-poor public schools, and bring entertainment professionals into the classroom for one-on-one mentoring sessions with students, as part of a larger curriculum in storytelling.
Most of the children in the schools selected are at poverty level and wouldn't have had this chance any other way.

In all of their programs, students are given guidance as they envision and write their own original short screenplay. At the end of the program, professional actors perform the students’ scripts in front of an audience comprised of their classmates, teachers and parents.
How awesome is that?

Can you imagine, as a child, being able to explore your wildest dreams through your own words, and seeing it acted out before you, shown exactly what you have created?

It's a beautiful thing to be able to give a child a voice, enhance their literacy, broaden their imagination, explore their minds completely, and show them at the end of the day that those thoughts matter.

Please support this wonderful cause with me!
