Vonnie Cox Spinks, 72, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center. She loved gardening, spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne and Denzil Cox; and brother, ADell Cox. Hello my name is Logan, Vonnie was my grandmother/mother. This was the most loving and giving woman I have ever met and all her children and grandchildren put her through the ringer. She always always always put everyone before herself. I've seen her lose her home, vehicles etc. because no one would ever work and stayed high on everything under the sun. I've seen this woman pin her money to the inside of her panties at night so nobody would steal it. She had a very rough life so everyone else could have a decent one. I work and my husband works but with bills we cant afford a headstone. A family member had been telling us they had burial insurance on her and when she passed they had none, so everyone scrapped up what they could and some had to take out loans and ended up having to get the cheapest funeral arrangement they had. Our family is so very dysfunctional that it's unbelieveable. Basically my husband and i cant afford a headstone and if anybody deserves a headstone its my grandmother. She was my everything and it's so heart breaking that she still doesnt have a headstone. Any and all money recieved will be spent on my grandmother's headstone and some of those nice concrete borders you put around graves. It's not a life or death situation but as soon as we can get the money the better, I cant wait to be able to have a headstone put on her grave, I feel like im letting her down by not being able to get her a headstone. I mean she always made sure we had everything we needed and the one time she needs something we havent been able to do it. She already had a funeral that was way less than she deserved. I just want her to at least have a nice headstone. Any and all donations will be so greatly appreciated, I can't express what this means to us. It gives me faith and hope in people again, I didnt think there were people out there willing to help, much less ones who actually want to and are happy about being able to. It's a very humbling experience for me, I'm having a hard time processing the fact of people commiting such selfless acts & wanting nothing in return but knowing they have helped someone else. God bless all of you and thank y'all so very much for helping us give our grandmother/mother the headstone she deserves. Thank y'all very much, Logan “When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.” – the Dalai Lama “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” – Kahlil Gibran
