Help me walk down the aisle...
Organized by: Lauren Clauss
I have been battling thyroid cancer since 2009. Because of the extensive iodine radiation treatments I have been left with some permanent disabilities. Treating the cancer outweighed the effect that the treatment would have on my quality of life. I am in physical and occupational therapy three times a week and I have learned to stay positive and in control of the stress by doing yoga every day regardless of how I feel. One of the biggest impacts from the cancer was the effect on my teeth. I can confidently say that I had a beautiful smile before the cancer treatment started. Now I need extensive work on my teeth because of the deterioration that happened from losing my parathyroids in te first surgery. Your parathyroids produce calcium in your body. Because my body now cannot make calcium I need over $20,000 in dental expenses. I'm not asking to raise money for my teeth. I am asking for donations or help with my wedding. There is never a good time to plan something when you have cancer but with the support of friends and family I know we can do it together! My fiancé has been by my side through all of this. It's my dream to show him how much I love him by becoming his wife. I can't wait to walk down the aisle and marry the man of my dreams. He's my best friend and my biggest supporter and we both really want to get married this year. I am not looking for anything extravagant. I just want my family and friends to be able to see me smile on the happiest day of my life... Regardless of my medical condition! Thank you for your time and support. Sincerely, Lauren
