Proper service dog training
Organized by: Karri Stevens
I chose u have weight loss surgery in January of 2014, in May of 2014 I ended up back in the hospital because I had malnutrition and couldn't stand on my own two feet without help. I spent 2 weeks there retraing my legs to work and my body to except the nutrients needed to keep me going on a daily basis. By the time I left there not only was my body trying to recuperate from malnutrition I was also diagnosed with neuropathy. The doctor told me that with the weakness from the malnutrition , the neuropathy and the problems I have with my back that I might want to check into getting a service dog. In September I got a black lab border collie mix puppy for my daughter with the understanding that when she has a peice fabric of any kind on that ment she was working and notable to play ( especially out in public ) When it's off she is our family dog and can be played with. We started her training shortly after that but the person who was helping to train her was doing it more with her fearing him wather then learning the right way to do things, so we let that trainer go. We have checked around and found a local company that comes in your home to start then helps all of us ( even my daughter) transgestion out in to having her in public and doing her job of being there for me to lean on if I fill week or something. And so she's not scared of my power chair. And this company stays with you as long as the dog is alive. If I have a problem not mater how big or small with babygirl they come back out and help me relearn how to do it so I can teach her what I need her to do. Please any help to get her trained so my family can have a little piece of mind about me being away from them and for both me and them to know she can get me help if I ever need it.
