For those of you that may not know, I've been in the staffing industry for over 15 years and am passionate about helping people find meaningful employment as well working with clients to develop customized staffing solutions to meet their hiring needs. I have been a part of The Grace Institute for over 5 years now, and currently sit on their Employer Advisory Board. Grace is dedicated to providing tuition-free education and training in business and administrative skills to economically disadvantaged women, along with the personal skills necessary for self-sufficiency, employability, and an improved quality of life. I have seen first hand how amazing this organization is and the women inspire me with their motivation and drive. Grace Institute was originally staffed by the Sisters of Charity. The curriculum guide in 1898 listed cookery, millinery, child care, Red Cross, children’s sewing, and dressmaking as course offerings. By the turn of the century, Grace Institute was offering a schedule of business classes in typing, bookkeeping, and stenography to help women secure jobs in New York City’s rapidly growing business community. This training qualified women for the better-paying positions in the business world! Every penny counts and I greatly appreciate your donations!
