BENEFITING: United Charitable Programs
Did you know? Thyroid Cancer is the fastest increasing newly diagnosed cancer in America today regardless of age, sex, race or ethnic background. This year, about 33,550 people will be diagnosed with thyroid cancer in the United States. About 75 percent will be women, making it the eighth-most-common cancer in women.
Thyroid cancer is most often seen in adults, with two thirds of the cases occurring between ages 20 and 55. Additionally childhood cancer survivors are at an increased risk of developing thyroid cancer as later on in life.
Why is this important? The thyroid gland is a major endocrine organ that regulates essential biological functions beyond your metabolism therefore thyroid cancer patients and survivors are faced with unique life long healthcare needs such as hormone replacement therapy and more.
Stevie JoEllie's Cancer Care Fund differs greatly from other cancer groups in that it's a 100% Volunteer Led Organization whose number one purpose and fundraising goal is help alleviate the financial burden placed on thyroid cancer patients, survivors and families during and after diagnosis and treatment through an access to care grant program and free supportive services.
If 10,000 people donate $10 dollars together we can reach Stevie JoEllie's Cancer Care Funds ambitious Holiday Wish and Fundraising Goal of $100,000 to help kick off SJCCF's access to care grant program for thyroid cancer patients and survivors nationwide.
