EVENT DATE: Nov 19, 2016
Being introduced to the Dogpound 18 months ago set me on a new course of weight training I could never have previously envisaged. On Saturday November 19, I will attempt the 1,000lb challenge - a single rep each of a bench press, squat and deadlift that adds to a minimum combined weight of 1,000lbs. For those of you that have known me a long time, attempting this is something that you will view as unlikely as I do ! For those of you that have not, the photo you see to the left is of 230lb sedentary me in 2011. You can scroll to the right to see a more recent one of me in training.
I am attempting this challenge in order to raise money for Hopeland, a non profit that seeks to raise awareness around the world of how many children live outside of the safe confines of a loving family and the long lasting negative impacts that often ensue. Please do visit the Hopeland website and donate below to this wonderful cause! Event photographs will be available upon request.
