"A doll that looks like me!"
This December, Foster A Dream is organizing a Winter Wonderland celebration event for more than 1,000 foster children. In addition to food, fun and games, each child is able to choose a few presents which are donated from our wonderful sponsors, local businesses and individual donors. Many of the children are African American, Hispanic, or Asian. This project goal is to help serve all of the foster children in the best way we possibly can. We would like each little girl to receive a beautiful doll that has her same ethnicity. But we need your help.
Won’t you help by contributing? Each doll costs roughly $20 and we’re hoping to raise at least $2,000 for Foster a Dream so they can buy 100 dolls. Your help will change a foster child's Holiday Season!
All money raised goes directly to Foster A Dream, a 501C3 organization providing children living in foster care meaningful experiences that expand their perspective on life and inspire them to believe they can achieve. They serve approximately 1600 foster youth and in five counties. Their mission is to provide programs and resources that build the hopes, dreams and futures of Bay Area foster children; and be a guiding source for successful transition into the adult world. The project funds will be applied towards the purchase of 100 dolls that will be given to foster children during their annual Winter Wonderland event, and also to provide supportive services for foster youth in the counties we serve.
