102nd Pennsylvania State University Horticulture Show
Organized by: Kevin Boylan
EVENT DATE Oct 10, 2015
The Pennsylvania State Horticulture Show has been a staple of the fall semester at Penn State for over a century. We hope to continue this distinguished tradition this year with the 102nd edition of the show. The theme that we will be attempting to portray for this years show will be National Parks Landscapes, and will occur on the weekend of October 10th, 2015. Our goal is to provide visitors with a scenic, entertaining, and enlightening experience of the horticulture present in select national parks throughout the Northeast region of the United States. We will create this display of landscapes from materials that have been donated from various vendors in the industry. This show serves as the Horticulture Club's biggest fundraising effort of the year, and provides funds to help enable students in many collegiate activities, including, but not limited to, NALP National Collegiate Landscape Competition (formerly PLANET Student Career Days), field trips to companies and nurseries, and various other educational club activities throughout the year. In addition to providing these opportunities for club members, proceeds from the show also fund scholarships for eligible students.
NEW THIS YEAR!
We will be donating a portion of show proceeds to THON in support of the Four Diamonds Fund! As a result of this, we are seeking monetary donations to offset the expenses required to put the show on and maximize the amount we are able to donate to THON.
With your help, we will be able to greatly reduce our expenses, providing us the opportunity to augment our charitable donations and educational opportunities for club members. Thank you for your time and considering contributing to our cause!
