BENEFITING: Young Audiences of San Diego
EVENT DATE: Nov 17, 2013
I am running the Silver Strand 10 Miler on November 17th to raise money for Young Audiences of San Diego (YASD) to help support arts for learning in San Diego.
Studies have shown that arts education has a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of every child and has proven to help level the "learning field" across socio-economic boundaries (Americans for the Arts). Yet, in San Diego's public schools, available funding for arts education continues to decline. YASD plays a critical role in keeping arts education alive in San Diego's schools and communities.
How would your donation help?
$250 pays for bus rental for a school to come to a Young Audiences Field Trip
$105 pays for a workshop in creative, West African, or Brazilian dance, mime, or Shakespeare
$75 pays for a 1 hour poetry workshop
$50 pays for a 1 hour Artist Residency class in any art form
$35 pays for visual arts supplies for one class
Help support YASD's mission to inspire, motivate and challenge children to achieve their full potential through the creative arts, provide professional development for teachers and artists, and lead the community in advocating for more arts education in schools.
