June 16, 2017
Event Name: 12 Days of Giving
It takes a village! This is Demetrice. A one year old boy, born with a rare brain disorder and other life limiting illnesses. He is followed by the Pediatric Palliative Care Team at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
At birth Demetrice was diagnosed with Semilobar Holoprosencephaly, Microcephaly, an Adrenal Insufficiency, Panhypopituitarism, Diabetes Insipidus, Global Development Delay, Failure to Thrive , GERD, and Respiratory Distress. He also received a Tracheotomy and a feeding tube and countless surgeries since birth. Demetrice is also deaf in his right ear and losing the hearing in his left ear.
As his mother I am unable to work because his Doctor's have said that he is too ill for daycare. My family is in need of basic things like a working automobile and insurance for the automobile and the basic things of life like diapers, wipes, water (distilled and infant water). Also he is medication dependant and frequents the doctor on a weekly basis.
I don't recieve food stamp benefits..... God seems to make a way for us. This is a family of 3 myself, my 7 year old daughter Kaeliea and Demetrice.
On October 14 2015, Demetrice underwent a surgical procedure to have an IV Port placed in his chest for permanent vein and blood access. On March 10 2016, Demetrice was also diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. There are many different things Demetrice needs. Please help me reach my goal! Any donation small or large will help. Thanks in advance!
