THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT OUR PAGE!
In 2005, one of our closest friends unexpectedly lost his mother to Lupus. The regulation of her immune system went awry as her body produced auto-antibodies that attacked her own tissues, leaving her powerless over her condition. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through the grace of her beautiful family and abundance of friends. On October 16th, in honor of Lana, Joseph, and the Atto family, we will be running the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon (13.1 miles).
As part of our run we have chosen to raise funds for the Lupus Foundation for America. We are asking you to consider supporting our run by making a contribution.
The Lupus Foundation of America’s National Research Program (LFA) is dedicated to bringing down the barriers that have for decades obstructed basic biomedical, clinical, and behavioral research on Lupus. The LFA is directing its support toward areas of research where gaps in understanding of Lupus exist, and toward promising areas of study where other public and private organizations have not focused their efforts.
Currently there is not a cure for Lupus. However, we ask that you kindly consider making a donation towards finding a cure. Our hope is that one day a family can be spared of losing a wife, sister and wonderful mother. Please be sure to check our website, to track our progress or to show your support by making a contribution. Thank you!
Time to start training!
