BENEFITING: National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Inc.
Ten years ago I watched as a family friend, a woman I called “MommaK,” fight the biggest battle of her life. Mother to my high school boyfriend, friend to my own mother, Madonna was an important person in my life when I was young. As a 21-year-old girl, I had little understanding of ovarian cancer , and thought that there was no way MommaK could die. In my young mind, ovarian cancer was an obscure thing, a cancer that most woman overcame. Most women beat it right? No, most don’t.
15,000 women will lose their battle with ovarian cancer this year, being the fifth leading-cause of cancer-related deaths.¹
I'm running the Kilimanjaro Marathon on March 3rd for 13 charities. #13for13 and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is one of the charities. Please consider donating!
