EVENT DATE Aug 14, 2016

THE STORY:

This campaign has multiple goals but the largest one is to raise funds for The Bridge of Storm Lake. I would like to complete Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run) Boulder and while I am training raise at least $10 for every mile. I started seriously thinking about it a year and half ago. All body shapes, ages and people from various backgrounds commit. People who have survived long term illnesses, have lost limbs and do this race to honor loved ones they have lost are all doing this race. This is a race that is less about the actually race and more about the race against time, against life and against themselves. If you could help me with any of my goals I would greatly appreciate it. 1. Please pray for me and The Bridge of Storm Lake. They coordinate multiple programs in our community. They serve the youth through after school programming, feed the hungry through food distribution, teach English, coordinate a gardening program and assist people with developing skills that make them employable. They do this all through their faith in God. Please pray for the people they serve, the people who volunteer their time with the organization and for me to have strength to not give up during training. The odds of finishing this thing in the allotted time are not really in my favor in this moment, but I'm committed to put in the time and push myself to a whole different level mentally and physically. 2. If you are blessed with an extra $5 or even $100 please consider giving to The Bridge. I have sent hundreds of students to volunteer with them and I have volunteered there and I can tell you that your funds will not go to waste. They are currently in a campaign to raise funds for a coffee roaster to teach youth a new skill and to provide funding sustainability. The founders, Anne and Jay took a chance in life and listened to their hearts to serve the people of Storm Lake. They have taught me a lot about how you should live your life. As selfish as training for an Ironman can and will be I have to stick to my roots and personal belief of doing this for a good cause and something that I am passionate about and for me that is The Bridge. I have seen people find themselves at the organization by serving and being served. This will hold me accountable, force me to stick to my word and have a reason why I need to get up at 5am (or earlier). I am also committed to making my 30th year on this great earth epic and why not do so by challenging myself physically and mentally. Please join follow my journey by reading my blog http://saproandironwife.blogspot.com/ I will also be using #make30epic on social media.
