Charlotte (5) and Gwenyth (2) Gray were diagnosed with an incredibly rare and fatal neurodegenerative brain disorder, Batten Disease, in March of last year. Because this disease is so rare, it had received very little funding toward research for a cure, slowing the progression of the disease, preserving quality of life in the children afflicted, and medical costs not covered by insurance. The generosity of all of those touched by the heartbreak in their story enabled a team of talented scientists and doctors to find a potential cure. The Gray girls were both treated and are awaiting the good news that this treatment did cure them of this terrible disease. Since her diagnosis, Charlotte has lost many of her natural abilities (ex: walking, speaking). Our goal this year is to rasie $25,000 to help with the rehab costs to get her back walking and talking and living the joyous life a 5 year old should!
The Colorado friends of the Grays are hiking/climbing Grays Peak on July 30th in support of Charlotte and Gwenyth. Please sponsor us as we embark on the Gray's Peak 14K climb, or sign up as a Team Member and join us! All funds raised go directly to the girls and their medical/rehab treaments. Because the money raised will go directly toward the girls' rehab treatments, a 501c3 will not be used. Should you require one for your donation, please email BrookeMedosch@gmail.com to connect with the Foundation donation page to receive a receipt for tax purposes. Every dollar counts and every moment matters. Additional Information can be found at: CureBatten.org
