On Sunday the 4th November 2012 I will be taking part in the New York Marathon. This is the first marathon I have attempted. It is also my first time in New York. I thought it would be a great opportunity to see the city, test myself mentally and physically and raise some money for charity in the process.
My chosen charity is Tuesday's children who help the children and families of 9/11 victims by providing programs and counselling to rescue and recovery workers and their families.
3000 children lost a parent during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. the average age was only 8 years old.
They also run an international program that brings together young people from around the world who have lost a family member to an act of terrorism, to heal together and learn important leadership and peace-building skills.
It's going to be a huge challenge and any money raised will be a great source of encouragement.
