Lenore Albom was my friend and colleague who died at 43 years young in 2003 from cancer.

Lenore understood the power that microfinance has to transform women’s lives. The promise of microfinance is one of empowerment— empowering low-income women and men through access to credit to invest and grow their businesses, provide for their families, and support their communities.

Every year since Lenore's death, through the Financial Women's Assocation of New York, we raise a few thousand dollars to continue Lenore's legacy and passion through microfinance projects that we know Lenore would be doing herself if she was still here.

Thank you for considering supporting us with whatever you can share to help keep Lenore's vision alive of helping others help themselves through microfinance project funding.

Thank you Crowdrise!

I just learned about this Crowdrise site through Edward Norton's June 8th speech and appearance at the Mashable Event at Internet Week New York, (thanks, Edward and everyone at Crowdrise!)

We only have a few weeks left to raise the funds we want to donate in Lenore's name this FWA fiscal year.

I thank you - and Lenore thanks you, too.
