MISSION NEPAL 2011
SENIOR INTERNATIONAL MISSION TRIP
CONCORD BAPTIST CHURCH,
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI
Dear Potential SIMT Sponsor:
The SIMT (Senior International Mission Trip) provides a once in a lifetime experience. Concord is not only committed to mission efforts right here in Jefferson City, but also around the world. Our desire is that the message of Christ to be taken around the world. We are excited to share with you the student mission strategic plan. The seven (7) year comprehensive missions plan increases in challenge as the age increases. This plan gives you an opportunity to make an eternal investment in the life of a particular student. This letter is designed to give you the necessary information to support a student both through prayer and financially.
The Bigger Picture:
This summer will be the seventh year for our SIMT (Senior International Mission Trip) We are excited to share with you the seven (7) year strategic mission plan for Concord Student Ministry. It begins with Jesus’ mandate for missions which are found in Acts 1:8. The full student mission plan was established here in 2005. Our work this summer will be vital to the success of this vision. You can be a part of that vision, by helping our graduated seniors prayerfully and financially. Here is the total strategic mission plan:
Level ONE Mission opportunity is provided and encouraged within Jefferson City on a monthly basis for all students at various times.
Level TWO Mission opportunity is provided and encouraged within the State of Missouri for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
Level THREE Mission opportunity is provided and encouraged within the United States for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.
Level FOUR Mission opportunity is provided and encouraged internationally (SIMT) for 12th grade students after they have graduated.
The SIMT is designed to challenge the worldview of each of our students before they move on to new areas of their lives. Nothing encourages a Christian worldview and challenges their walk with Christ like an international mission experience. Even though this type of experience can change a life anytime, the best time seems to come immediately after graduating high school. We pray this year you will consider being a sponsor of one of our students.
This year we will be working with the Tibetan Ministry in Kathmandu (KTM), Nepal. We will be helping to host English clubs in the major Tibetan areas of KTM. We will be playing soccer (or field games) in abandoned fields near the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in KTM. This vision of this trip would be to establish relationships and to share the Gospel with them through a variety of ways led by our IMB missionaries on the ground in Nepal.
• Total Estimated Cost of SIMT 2011 $2100 per student or adult leader.
