BENEFITING: Alzheimer's Research Foundation, Fisher Center
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2011
I'm running the 2011 NYC Marathon to support the Fischer Center for Alzheimer's Research in New York. They do groundbreaking neuroscience research with the goal of one day eradicating Alzheimer's Disease.
I'm not going to hit you with facts and figures. You can see some of those at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF7iD0B8jWU&feature=player_embedded
What I will tell you is that my dad has been suffering from Alzheimer's for many years. He will not directly benefit from the research that is being done at the Fischer Center. But in his honor, I hope that the funds I raise will allow all of us the chance of a dignified, healthy and happy life in our twilight years (when they eventually come!)..
And if you don't want to support me for that, well then just support me because I'm running 26.2 miles and it's going to bloody well hurt!
Thanks for listening!
