I have been volunteering at the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls in Brooklyn for three years now, and it is honestly one of the most inspiring and supportive programs I've had the privilege of being a part of. As someone who hugely benefitted from arts programming as a child and teen, especially at summer camps, it's amazing to be able to contribute to an organization that helps young girls and women express themselves creatively and gives them a space to explore who they are and what they want to do in an exciting and safe environment. WMRC has become a huge part of my life and a huge part of the lives of hundreds of campers and other volunteers, and I would love it if you would help support the work that they do!
This project is the 2nd Annual VOLUNTEER-A-THON. Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is powered by over 150 volunteers every summer! The Volunteer-a-thon is a chance for friends, family, and co-workers to sponsor volunteers for their time at camp -- like a walk-a-thon, only noisier.
Sponsors can pledge support for 1 hour of volunteering, 60 hours, or something in between. All proceeds go to a special volunteer-driven scholarship fund that will allow more girls to attend Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls. Every contribution will help get us one step closer to our goal of raising enough money to send 5 girls to camp.
Sponsor a volunteer for 1 hour @ $15

Thanks in advance for supporting the 2011 VOLUNTEER-A-THON!
