EVENT DATE: Mar 18, 2012
It is with great sadness that this year's marathon was not in the cards. I was in a car accident last week and while I am thankful I walked away, I have sustained injuries to my back and neck that will prevent me from running on Sunday.
I'm incredibly grateful for your generosity and support. Together, we have raised $1000 for this great cause. Events like this are a reminder of the unpredictabilities in this world and it's comforting knowing there are organizations who are there to help.
I am committed to rehabilitation and starting training again soon. I hope to compete in a marathon within the next year and am propelled to achieve this goal, thanks to your support.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

2012 will be our 3rd year as an official charity for the LA Marathon. Last year Real Medicine Foundation was able to raise over $21,000.00 for projects in 15 different countries including the Japan Relief Efforts. Athletes for Real Medicine strives to bring not only awareness to the work we do but to make a "real" difference by donating 92% of all funds raised directly to their intended projects. Help us to reach our goal for the 2012 LA Marathon by supporting one of our fabulous athletes, or joining us for the journey!

This will be my second marathon ever! I know, I said I would only do one in my lifetime, but I was so overwhelmed by the support of friends and family that I want to give it another shot. I'm calling this year my Redemption Run as a chance to improve my time and hopefully see the famous Stadium to Sea course in sunlight (see my 2nd photo for last year's torrential weather!).
Much more importantly, this is an opportunity to raise funds and support a tremendous cause. This year I am thinking globally and acting locally! I am running with the Real Medicine Foundation, a humanitarian relief organization based in Los Angeles. Last year's marathon was only a week after Japan's devastating earthquake and tsunami, and I wished I could do more for those affected. Thankfully Real Medicine was there and has been for so many other victims of global disasters.
I've been training all year for this marathon, so I'll make you a deal: 500 miles for $500 Seems fair, right? Please help support my campaign and help keep me smiling at the finish line! Thank you so very much!!
Miles to date: 470
