BENEFITING: THE MAYORS FUND TO ADVANCE NEW YORK CITY
EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2012
HOURS PLEDGED: 25
Mileage Tracker: 2,018
I've spent this year attempting to run 2012 miles in 2012 for the simple (but not easy) challenge of it. In light of the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy to this region, though, I'd like to close out the year and my goal by dedicating it to helping fund relief efforts.
Presently (morning of 11/7), I have 366.59 miles to go. This is approximately 65 miles behind target and averages out to 6.67 miles of running per day from now until December 31st. Between now and then, I'll be running a half and ultra marathon as well as doing hands-on volunteering. Recovery is going to require funds, donations of goods and manpower. With hard work and generosity, these efforts will contribute all three at one point or another. Follow our progress at cheaptriathlete.blogspot.com.
If you haven't yet donated to relief efforts (or even if you already have) and would like to, you can give here. Want to get more involved? Run with me! And in so doing, raise awareness for this cause and for the overall cause of making things a little better for the world at large.
