Every year around this time, I ask for donations for Our House.
This year, instead of walking in the one mile In Memory Walk, I’m going to run in the 5k (ish) Run For Hope. (I am actually learning to run for this.)
I was in a young widows’ group at OUR HOUSE in 1998 (yes … I was young then), so I know first hand the value of this organization. I only wish it had been around when my father had died 36 years earlier. So, on April 28th, I will once again wear a shirt with Chris’ photo on the back and participate in this fundraiser to honor his memory and to raise money for present & future group members of Our House.
Our House provides age and relationship specific groups for people dealing with grief & loss. And, thanks to donations, no one in need is turned away due to an inability to pay. Any donation will help … it will go towards covering the cost of joining a group for a child, teen, or adult who has lost a parent, an adult who has lost a partner, or perhaps a parent who has lost a child.
