2 More Weeks!
October 05, 2016
Caleb was born with several congenital heart defects called pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum, asd, and hypoplastic right heart syndrome. He had his first open heart surgery at 1 week old. His first year of life proved challenging but he continued to get stronger and stronger as the year went on and exceed all the doctor's expectations. He had his second open heart surgery in June 2016 and made a full recovery in record time. He will most likely need more open heart surgeries in the future but nothing is on the radar and we hope and pray it is DECADES before he will need one.
Today, Caleb is a rambunctous 1.5 year old who shows no signs of this disease on the outside, although his insides aren't perfect. He loves to play with his sister, jump on trampolines, and get dirty. We are thankful Caleb's journey has gone better than expected and that he continues to thrive today! God is so good and we have seen so many answered prayers for Caleb.
