Growing up as a Girl Scout (and Brownie!) myself, I was taught about the importance of building character and confidence at an early age. I am running the 2014 Boston Marathon with the Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Charity Team because I want to be able to help bring this same feeling of self-fulfillment to society's next generation of young girls as they go on to become successful women. Funds raised will help support the "Girl Scouts Get Moving" Health Initiative that teaches girls about health and wellness as they experiment with new sports and activities. Because the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is integrated into all of their programs, girls build skills - such as leadership, team building, conflict resolution, critical thinking, strong values, perseverance and conviction about their own self-worth - that serve them throughout life and allow them to use their full potential to make the world a better place. Please donate and know that YOU are making a difference in the lives of more than 41,000 girls in 178 different communities across Eastern Massachusetts. Go the Distance to help them help themselves! Thank you SO MUCH for your support for this wonderful cause! It is appreciated more than you know.
