As you might know I have been involved with OUR HOUSE Grief Support center. The OUR HOUSE mission is to provide grief support services, education, resources and hope to the Los Angeles community. I work with kids and although I have only been working with them for a few short months these kids and this experience has changed my life so profoundly. It's work that is deeply personal to me and I think what OUR HOUSE does and what they offer people who are facing tremendous loss is so very important and essential.
Every year there is an event called the Run For Hope. This is a day dedicated to honoring the memory and celebrating the lives of those close to us who have died. The Run For Hope is a day to share grief, loss and love; providing the community with a sense of hope and connection. There are various ways throughout the day to participate, including a quiet adult only In-Memory Walk, a 5k Walk/Run, and a Kid Fun Run. The event allows each participant to acknowledge and strengthen their connection with their loved one(s) who died. There is no other event like this!
I am reaching out to not only invite you to participate in the Run For Hope on Sunday, April 27th, but perhaps you know someone who may be interested and could benefit from this meaningful day. I am going to be there walking in the 5K Walk/Run and I hope you will join me!! You can walk with me, you can walk/run with your partner, your kids, your family, friends... anyone and everyone!
I hope to see you there!
Thank you so very much!
