June 28, 2014
BENEFITING: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit
EVENT DATE: Jun 27, 2014
Help us raise funds to support the YMCA's Detroit Swims program, teaching EVERY child in the City of Detroit to swim!
Our goal – teach 1,500 kids each and every year.
$100 will give one child eight swim lessons, a swimsuit, and a lifetime of confidence and safety in the water. MICSA swim team clubs are competing against each other - the team that raises the most support wins the 2014 Corsan Challenge award and a clinic conducted by Olympic Gold Medalist Peter Vanderkaay!
(Who is George Corsan? He's kind of a big deal... ask Google! He's a Y staff member who developed the first formalized group swim lessons in Detroit in 1909.)
Hurry – we only have 30 days. Last year we were able to scholarship 200 kids through the program and help buy a bus, and this year, we want to increase that number to 300 kids!
The competition ends June 27th at midnight EST, with the winning team receiving a clinic from Peter Vanderkaay and the award will be presented at the final day of the Championship Meet! Thank you MICSA clubs for your continued support of Detroit Swims!
