The Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a race, but rather a tribute honoring the sacrifices of fallen heroes - both near and far.
Fulfilling a promise to "NEVER FORGET" their brothers and sisters who have died in the line of duty, 343 firefighters and 70 law enforcement officers (the number of firefighters/law enforcement that perished at Ground Zero with the collapse of the Twin Towers) climb 110 floors (the height of the former World Trade Center Twin Towers).
~~Metroplex Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, C.O.P.S. provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.
The Metroplex Chapter serves 38 North Texas Counties, including Hood, Wise, Jack, Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, and Wichita.
